Notoriously known for its bad reputation of not having good eateries, Thiruvananthapuram is striving hard to gain the title of “eat capital of Kerala.” Now with delicious restaurants popping in every nook and cranny of the city, the capital is flourishing in the food scene. Back in days when I was an undergraduate student in the capital, we had only a couple of option when it comes to weekend hangout spots/restaurants. Set inside an 18th-century dutch mansion, Villa Maya‘s tasting menu is dizzyingly ambitious. The plates are rooted in the Trivandrum’s culinary history with the menu being a blend of traditional as well as contemporary taste. It is always busy, but the candlelit seats in the middle of the lotus pond work really well. The ambience is exceptional with courteous staffs and live music.
Can anything get better than this? Yes, Villa Maya is the priced possession of Trivandrum residents.

My advice to you is to eat their scrumptious Sadhya, which they serve all the year-round. This ultimate Sadhya will come with boli, payasam and everything delicious, and I am absolutely a fan of their food. You can try other veg cuisines as well.
